Spring 2009 AV/Computer Catalog Now Available!

The Spring AV / Computer Co-op bid was sent to over 130 vendors across the U.S.A. with 43 of those vendors being awarded products that are included in our online or PDF catalog.

The AV Catalog has over 230 pages and lists hundreds of products that schools and library customers want to purchase. This catalog includes many items that have not been listed ever before as well as the products that you expect to find there.

New items include “Vendor Discounts for an entire Catalog”. All Amer.com and Freedom9 products are listed with a 35% discount.

GovConnection, Inc. and Troxell Communications Inc. have been awarded a Cost+ contract that gives IEC customers a discount off a complete list of their online catalogs… and these contracts are valid through March 2010. Another bonus is that all IEC customers, staff, and students can purchase from these contracts personally. You can find the link to these contracts in the “Catalog Discounts” section of the AV Co-op Catalog and will soon be included in the “Teacher and Student Buy” section on the IEC home page.

Bretford, HON, and Virco furniture contracts offer 50-60% discounts and minimal or free shipping. Iowa customers can also scan this catalog for many of the Iowa Prison Industries furniture products that are available.

The CDW-G / IEC website provides IEC customers the option to get discounted pricing for everything on that site.

Pexagon Technology, Inc. has increased their product line to not only include engraved USB flash drives but also portable hard drives, personalized pens, picture frames, swivel drives, pen drives, animal drives, Jellibeenz flash drives, and more.

The AV catalog continues to offer HP Desktop, Laptop, Mini Notebook computers, monitors, printers, accessories and supplies. ByteSpeed also provides these same products and now lists 3 different servers that customers may want to consider. Great Lakes Educational Distributing (GLED) provides all Project Lead the Way customers a desktop and laptop computer that is configured and guaranteed to run PLTW software programs.

The AV Co-op conducted a Spring Multimedia Projector Shoot-out March 5^th. A group of over 30 AV Committee members, manufacturer and vendor representatives, and school IT staff were involved in reviewing over 70 different major branded multimedia projectors. From those projectors being reviewed, 18 of them were chosen to be included in this Spring’s AV co-op catalog, with prices starting as low as $428 for a low end classroom machine. Multimedia projectors are classified as either LCD or DLP and have native SVGA, XGA, or WXGA resolutions. All multimedia projectors include 3 to 5 year warranties, depending on brand name.

Interactive Whiteboards have become popular devices in schools. New short-throw and ultra close-focus multimedia projectors can be ceiling or wall mounted and used with whiteboards or stand-a-lone projectors, and are listed. Interactive whiteboard technology includes products from manufacturers such as SVS AV Rover/ Onfinity, Hitachi, Interwrite, Mimio, Polyvision, and Promethean.
